Le Smoking. The game changer. In 1966, the famous French designer, Yves Saint Laurent broke all norms by designing a tuxedo, Le Smoking for women replacing the usual gorgeous party dresses. It was very-well received by the French fashionistas. However, the suit was resented by the regular masses who were used to old, familiar lifestyle. Regardless, this brought about a significant change in the fashion industry. People starting grasping the concept of gender fluidity in fashion.

Since the past decade, no-gender fashion has significantly gained popularity and become mainstream. For NYFW Spring/Summer 2015, designer, Rad Hourani showcased a unisex haute couture. In 2016, the then 17-year-old artist, Jaden Smith wore a skirt for Louis Vuitton’s ad campaign.
